Witchampton opens its wonderful gardens to the public this May Bank Holiday weekend and expects to attract visitors from all over the South of England.

Situated four miles north of Wimborne, Witchampton is one of Dorset's best preserved villages. Some 19 of its gardens are opening – grand, modest, formal, relaxed, riverside and hillside - several open individually under the National Gardens Scheme.

Refreshments will be available all day at the Village Hall and the Witchampton Club. The Wimborne Brass Band, the Morris Dancers and the Witchampton Ukelele Orchestra will perform and two celebrated Witchampton artists are opening their studios, as part of Dorset Art Weeks.

The will be fun for all the family with a children's treasure hunt and a scarecrow trail. A free shuttle will transport visitors around the village and, after the gardens close on Monday 27th, the Church will host a folk-rock concert ("Freeborn Brothers") with discounted tickets for garden visitors at £8 only. A £10pp weekend ticket gives access to all the gardens (under 14's are free), with free parking at BH21 5AG. Opening: 11am to 4pm (last entry).
