LCL POP!-con 2022

The POP! in our con comes from incorporating all the awesome genres that create a typical con. This includes: fantasy, science-fiction, horror, medieval, renaissance, manga, alternative, and more. Last year we themed our POP!-con with renaissance faire outside, science-fiction fantasy space odyssey inside and everything in between. Visit our Vendor Street Faire and Artist Alley to explore vendors and designers consisting of blacksmithing, glass blowing, knitting, jewelry making, costume making, brewing, Mead making, sewing craft, costume making, comic book writing and illustrating, prop making, filmmaking, and more!

Special Guests: Mark Altman; Cheralyn Lambeth, Dean Jones, Bill Mulligan, Eric Klaus, Al Bigley, Marshall Lakes, Kev Lyerly, Derek Morrill, Samantha Bryant; and Bill Tracy. We will feature authentic primitive blacksmithing with Ravens Keep Forge along with two highly enjoyable medieval reenactor troupes complete with sword fighting and archery demos with the Knights of the Fiat Lux and Sword Circle. Plus, our outside Children's Connection will feature a bouncy house, face painting, games, and crafts. New this year will be our musical element, Thunder and Spice, a lively duo performing traditional Celtic, Renaissance, and folk music throughout the day and the bird and wildlife rescue, CLAWS and their amazing mission to rescue, rehabilitate and speak for North Carolina Wildlife.
You won't go home hungry either! There will be five awesome food trucks, two dessert tables, and two mead/hard cider retailers offering free samples and sale of sealed bottles to take home. Our goal as a library is to inspire current and future artists by showcasing the very people who have pursued their dreams and love what they do. The POP!-con provides the perfect environment for visitors to engage, explore and connect with a variety of artists, creators, and designers. Whether discovering a new hobby, interest, or a career, the POP!-con truly has something for everyone.
