1001 Images: 36 Years of Painting in Somerset by Moish Sokal

1001 Images is a major exhibition celebrating 36 years of painting in Somerset by renowned watercolour artist Moish Sokal. Featuring recent and new works, this special exhibition showcases a lifetime of artistic exploration, bringing together vibrant paintings inspired by travel, adventure, culture and the landscapes of Somerset.

Over many years, Sokal has travelled extensively, finding inspiration in destinations including India, Africa, South America, Australia, Havana and Venice. Through colourful and expressive watercolours, he captures moments of everyday life, distant communities, peaceful landscapes and memorable experiences from around the world. Alongside these international scenes, visitors will discover paintings of the English countryside that has been his home and inspiration for decades.

The exhibition takes its name from Sokal's remarkable collection of works, culminating in painting number 1001, Washing Done. Also on display will be a selection of limited-edition prints and signed cards, offering a broader look at the hundreds of images created throughout his distinguished career.
