15YO Patient to Pilot Landing in Brighton, UK
Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 1200 - 1800
Brighton City (Shoreham) Airport will welcome a truly extraordinary visitor this Tuesday. 15-year-old Australian pilot Byron Waller, known as Teen Pilot Down Under, is flying with his instructor into the UK as part of his ambitious attempt to become the youngest supported pilot to circumnavigate the globe.
Byron departed Brisbane, Australia, on 9 August 2025, and is travelling across 22+ countries and 5 continents. Along the way, he has faced the challenges of international flying, cross-cultural communication, and managing the unique difficulties of living with Crohn's disease, a chronic illness he lived with his whole life before being diagnosed in early 2024. His journey is not only about aviation but also about showing young people everywhere that resilience and ambition can carry you further than you ever imagined.
