15th Annual Hopi Arts & Cultural Festival Brings Art Market, Cultural Experiences to Flagstaff Mall in Flagstaff on 29 August 2026
Saturday, August 29, 2026 -- Sunday, August 30, 2026, 1000 - 1700
A highlight of the free two-day, family-friendly event is the annual Art Market, which allows Hopi artisans to sell their handicrafts while supporting their families and communities.

Rooted in storytelling through vibrant song, dance and art, the festival honors Hopi heritage and invites attendees to explore the tranquility of Hopi traditions and native culture. The festival will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, with remarks and a traditional Hopi prayer presented by representatives of the Hopi Tribe Economic Development Corporation.

Throughout the weekend families can enjoy traditional Hopi dances. Attendees can also experience artistic expression through textiles with a live fashion show at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, in addition to exploring the flavors of Hopi food and participating in raffle prize drawings.

Hopi Arts and Cultural Festival began in 2010 as a way to assist artisans in selling their arts and crafts following a major recession. It was also an avenue to help introduce their artistic ability and Hopi culture to the public. The Hopi Festival brings the Flagstaff community public education on Hopi culture by way of art, traditional social dances and information. The event is a bridge that allows the City of Flagstaff and surrounding communities to come together and learn from one another through unity, happiness, and stewardship of the earth from all people of different walks of life.

The Hopi Arts and Education Association (HAEA), which hosts the annual festival, originated in 2017 under the Hopi Tribe Economic Development Corporation. Its mission is to provide and support educational and artistic opportunities for the Hopi community, to provide scholarships for higher educational pursuits, and to increase awareness and understanding of Hopi arts and culture. HAEA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. No tickets are needed. Because it is located inside Flagstaff Mall, families can participate and explore the beauty of Hopi culture, rain or shine.
