2024 Fur Rondy Amateur Photo Contest Display

Each year hundreds of photos, taken all over the state of Alaska, are submitted in 9 different photographic categories: Animals (pets and captive), Creative, Flowers, Fur Rondy, People, Scenic, Sports, Unclassified and Wildlife. Prizes are awarded in each category for both Black and White and Color photos. All together, 250 photos, chosen and awarded Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Honorable Mention and Selected for Exhibition, end up on display in the mall as part of this official Fur Rendezvous event.

Three local professional photographers donate their time and expertise to judge the contest submissions. This year's judges are:

Dave Parkhurst - "Alaska Naturally"
Dave is nationally recognized for his Aurora Borealis photography.

Didier Lindsey - "Alaska Wildlife Images"
Didier is an award-winning wildlife and nature photographer.

Lisa Seifert - "Wolf Studios"
Lisa is a celebrated portrait photographer, specializing in commercial, wedding and special event photography

Total Qualified Entries Received: 453
Entries that Placed (Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd): 51
Entries that received an Honorable Mention: 24
Entries that were "Selected for Exhibition": 175
