2026 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® presented by STAR

Walk a Mile is for everyone: individuals, families, teams, workplaces, and community groups. Sign up on your own or gather your crew, then raise funds to support STAR's work across Alaska. Every dollar raised helps sustain STAR's prevention and education programs, survivor advocacy services, and 24-hour crisis line, ensuring survivors of sexual violence have access to support, resources, and hope whenever they need it.

Walk a Mile is more than a fundraiser. It's one of Anchorage's most entertaining, energetic, and memorable community events. Participants come together to take a stand against sexual violence while enjoying music, photo opportunities, team spirit, and plenty of laughter along the route. Whether you're walking in high heels, sneakers, work boots, or something creatively over the top, you'll be part of a community united around an important cause.

The friendly competition is legendary, especially between the Anchorage Police Department and Anchorage Fire Department, whose teams bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a fierce rivalry to the event every year. Participants can compete for coveted trophies, including Largest Team, Top Individual Fundraiser, Top Fundraising Team, Best Shoes, and First Finisher.

Every step helps raise awareness, support survivors, and strengthen STAR's work in prevention, education, advocacy, and crisis intervention. Join us for a day of purpose, fun, and unforgettable community spirit. High heels are optional, but making an impact is guaranteed.
