Treasure Island, FL – The 27th Annual Treasure Island Sport Kite Competition and Festival will feature Show Kites, Kite Demos, Hot ticks Competition, Free Stunt Kite Lessons, and Kite Ballet to Music with some of the world’s best kite enthusiasts including:

- The Wind Wolves Traveling Kite Show - Hailing from Hackensack, New Jersey, this team of expert kite flyers wows audiences with their aerial acrobatics and kite music playlist. Their precision and skill as they maneuver their kites through the sky will dazzle the masses and leave visitors with an unforgettable adventure!

- The Flying Mantas Kite Team at Madeira Beach Fundamental School is the first school-based sport kite team in the country. This is a unique and exciting program that offers students the opportunity to learn about and participate in the sport of kite flying. The team competes in individual and team ballet form. This means that students learn to fly their kites with precision and skill, both individually and as part of a team. The ballet form of kite flying is particularly challenging, as it requires students to coordinate their movements with each other to create beautiful and intricate patterns in the sky.

- Lee Sedgwick - Erie, Pennsylvania; Kite flyer, windsurfer, kitesurfer, kite skier, beach bum showcasing Bubbles, Ground Displays, and Quad Stack Kite Line Demos

- Wisconsin Kiters Club – Traveling from Green Bay, Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Kiters Club is a family-oriented organization dedicated to kiting. Members of all backgrounds and experience levels come together to share their passion at community festivals and fun flies across the state. Many club members also represent Wisconsin at national events.

- Kevin Bayless – Flying in from Taylorsville, Utah Kevin is longtime self-taught kite maker and general kiting enthusiast, Kevin designs his kites with colorful patchwork layouts.

- Peter Dolphin, a Cape Coral, Florida resident, is a renowned kite flyer and maker. He has performed at kite festivals worldwide and won numerous American Kitefliers Association (AKA) trophies in Sport Kiting, Kitemaking, Rokkaku Fighting, and people's choice awards.

The 27th Annual Kite Festival will be held on January 13-14, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Treasure Island Beach, behind the Thunderbird Beach Resort, 10700 Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island, FL 33706. The event is family friendly, and admission is free.
