AAUW Sheboygan Branch 9th Annual STEM Conference Day
Saturday, November 7, 2026, 0745 - 1200
AAUW Sheboygan, WI Branch encourages young women to discover, explore and learn from area STEM field experts. Currently only 26% of women are in STEM career fields, and AAUW Sheboygan has a goal to increase that to 50% or more.
This year's annual AAUW Sheboygan STEM event offers eleven fun and educational STEM field presenters for areas 6th to 9th grade girls to learn about different STEM career fields.
Sheboygan County middle school and freshman girls can learn about the event and eleven courses and presenters by going to our aauwsheboyganstem.org website. There is a small $10 registration fee for the event registration to enroll in the STEM event sessions.
Amanda Latham, Climate Outreach Specialist, who has worked as a TV meteorologist for five years, and has a degree in atmospheric and ocean sciences from UW-Madison, will be this year's guest speaker. Please join us to hear about Amanda's exciting STEM field career path and experiences. You may recognize her from being on one of the meteorologist on one of the Milwaukee's TV stations.
New this year is a parent session where parents are encouraged to stay after the guest speaker presentation to be part of a round-table panel discussion with local STEM field experts. The discussions will be about the benefits of parents to encourage their daughters to consider STEM education and career paths at this important career path thinking time in their students life.
We also permit the participant's parents to attend one or two of the STEM event session with their daughters if they so choose to. Please checkout out website and join us for an educational STEM event at Sheboygan South High School on Nov. 7th. The event starts at 7:45 AM with participant registration and ends at noon.
