Ad Astra Kansas Space Celebration

Grab the family and go to the FREE Ad Astra Kansas Space Celebration at Washburn University on April 19 from 1-4 p.m. This cool space exploration event has astronomy, telescopes, a planetarium, cosmic crafts, science demos, hands-on activities like build- and-launch paper rockets, brain-teaser games to inform and engage. There will be mini-drones to fly, flight demos, glowing light optics, meteorites, mini-robotics and more. And, oh yes! space ice cream.
A special presentation about the Big Bang, "The Expanding Universe", will be given by renowned cosmologist Dr. Bharat Ratra of K-State University at 2:00 p.m..
Sponsored by the Ad Astra Kansas Foundation and the Washburn University Department of Physics for its 15th year. The location is Stoffer Science Hall on the campus.
