Bath Brynaman Unveils Vision for the Future with
Community Summer Gathering
Brynaman, Wales - Saturday 20 June 2026 - Bath Brynaman welcomes the community to a day of
conversation, wellbeing and creativity at Brynaman Baths and Rugby Ground, Brynaman SA18 1SW,
sharing its vision for the future of the historic open-air pool site.
Bath Brynaman is inviting local people to join the conversation about the future of the Baths on
Saturday 20 June, with a full day of festival-inspired activities running from 9am to 8pm. Visitors
will be able to discover the latest project developments, meet the team behind the initiative and
help shape the next stage of plans for the site. A series of wellbeing and creative activities will run
throughout the day, including a pop-up sauna, sound bath, yoga, arts, forest school and circus skills
workshops. From 5pm, the event will continue with Swper a Sgwrs, a free community supper
followed by a presentation and discussion. Advance booking is encouraged for the evening session.
A Day of Wellbeing, Creativity and Community Connection
The day begins with Brynaman Parkrun at 9am and activities will include something for everyone:
with a warm croeso n'ol to Sauna Hut Wales, plus yoga, breathwork, a sound bath and Tumble
LindyHop, with art and forest-skills workshops from Black Mountain Print and Hiraeth y Goedwig,
and Organised Kaos circus-skills on the field. Côr Meibion Dyffryn Aman (Amman Valley Male Voice
Choir) will perform in the afternoon. Throughout the day, the Bath gates will be open so visitors can
step inside, meet the project team, explore the emerging vision for the refurbishment and share
their views on how the space should serve the community in future.
Evening Event: Swper a Sgwrs
From 5pm, local people are invited to gather for a free community supper, presentation and
discussion about the future of the Baths, with hot food from Spud Village and live music. During the
evening, the design team led by Rural Office will present the latest concept work,
developed from community feedback, research and ongoing engagement. The concept outlines how
people may move through and use the site, as well as the potential structure, design, materials and
finishes. This stage is an important step ahead of any future planning application and funding
submissions, helping demonstrate how the project responds to community needs.

Visitor Information
Parking on site is limited, and visitors are encouraged to lift-share, walk, cycle or use public transport
where possible. Access to the Baths is currently via steps only. Improving accessibility across the site
is a central part of the wider refurbishment vision.
About Bath Brynaman
Built by local people and opened in 1934, Bath Brynaman is an important and rare survival - a
historic open-air pool, treasured by the community. Closed in 2010, it remains an important part of
the area's cultural and industrial heritage, and a place associated with memories for generations of
local residents. Extensive community engagement and events continue to inform the vision, funding
development and future business planning of the Baths regeneration project.
A Pool Fit for the Future
The planned refurbishment aims to respect the original design of the pool while retaining distinctive
features such as the turnstile and changing booths, with sympathetic adaptations to improve
accessibility and ease of use. By using renewable energy and sustainable materials, the project
envisions an open-air swimming pool designed for the future - creating opportunities for local
people to relax, unwind, connect, socialise, be active and enjoy a much-loved place at the heart of
the community.

Bath Brynaman is looking for stewards to support the event during the day on 20 June, in
the evening and on the following day. Anyone interested in helping is encouraged to get in
touch by email at brynamanlido@gmail.com.
