Wednesday, December 27, 2023 -- Saturday, December 30, 2023, 1930 - 2045
ANANSI TALES FOR THE HOLIDAYS, a {theatre}+{nafsi} FOR Youth production will perform at the MuCCC theater located at 142 Atlantic Ave, Rochester, NY Wed, December 27 [Pay What You Will] through Sat, December 30 at 3:00 pm. Other than the "Pay What You Will" night, tickets are $10 for kids/$20 for adults in advance and $25 for adults at the door.

Each year, we introduce new folktales and characters to our holiday show, enriching the cultural tapestry of storytelling. This year proudly unveils High John the Conqueror from African-American folklore. Our Griot Artists, a diverse ensemble of Youth and Adults, bring these tales to life. With enthusiastic audience participation and contributions from community guest readers, we craft a unique and interactive experience.

ANANSI TALES FOR THE HOLIDAYS celebrates cultural diversity, blending African, Caribbean, and African-American folklore through interactive theatre, storytelling, and puppetry. It transports the audience into vibrant narratives, fostering a connection to our shared heritage.

Folktales form the foundation, timeless vessels of wisdom passed down orally. They transcend stories, offering valuable lessons and insights, a cherished pastime. Sharing these tales honors the enduring power of storytelling to bridge gaps and unite us in shared cultural experiences.

{theatre}+{nafsi} FOR Youth presents enchanting tales for the entire family, emphasizing the transformative power of storytelling. As Rochester's cherished holiday tradition, we infuse the season with the magic of interactive theatre and timeless narrative wisdom.

In our interactive production, we go beyond the stage, inviting the audience to actively participate. By reinforcing that "brains" are valuable assets, promoting resilience, and problem-solving, we frame the holiday season as a profound moment of communal sharing. It's a time when generations celebrate diverse narratives and collective wisdom.

Establishing ourselves in Rochester, we invite families to join us in creating lasting memories. {theatre}+{nafsi} FOR Youth is not just a performance; it's a celebration of the human spirit and the enduring magic of storytelling.
