Art of Transformation
Thursday, September 18, 2025, 1800 - 2000
Art of Transformation is McClendon Center's annual signature event, a celebration of creative healing, community, and positive change.
Highlights include 50+ original artworks created by our talented clients, a special performance by participants in our Dance/Movement Therapy program, and an inspiring evening in the historic True Reformer Building-a cultural landmark as the first building in the United States to be designed, financed, built, and owned by the African American community after Reconstruction. Join us for an evening featuring complimentary beer, wine, and delicious passed appetizers.
Proceeds from artwork sales directly support McClendon Center's mission to enhance the health and well-being of DC's most vulnerable residents, including individuals facing economic and mental health challenges.
Why Attend the Art of Transformation?
Each year, community members gather to immerse themselves in a showcase of original client artwork while supporting McClendon Center's vital mission to support and empower people on the journey to becoming their best selves.
Guests look forward to:
Supporting Healing Through Art: Discovering how art is a tool for recovery and expression
Being Inspired by Our Clients: Meeting the talented individuals whose stories and creations inspire hope
Perusing and Purchasing Artwork: Finding unique pieces to cherish while supporting a meaningful cause
Connecting with the Community: Mingling with fellow supporters, staff, and friends in a vibrant, welcoming setting. Join us for an evening featuring complimentary beer, wine, and delicious passed appetizers.
