Auditions for the play Dirty Work at the Crossroads October 15 and 17 at Fauquier Community Theatre!

Casting Call! Fauquier Community Theatre is holding auditions for the classic melodrama play Dirty Work at the Crossroads! Note: All roles will be played by actual age of actors 18 years old and up. All roles are available for the public to audition for. Auditions are on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 7 pm to 10 pm and Friday, October 17, 2025 from 7 pm to 10 pm. Pre-registration is required. Auditions will take place at the Vint Hill Theater on the Green, 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton, VA. Synopsis! Dirty Work at the Crossroads is a comedic melodrama that tells in laughable style the tear jerking story of Nellie Lovelace, a country girl. Munro Murgatroyd is the classic villian in the play who is intent on selling some land underhandedly to the railroad. He has a wife Ida Rhinegold, belle of the New Haven Music Halls, but that does not prevent him from trying to pursue Nellie. Nor does it prevent him from driving Adam Oakhart, the blacksmith's son to vices, or from blackmailing rich Mrs. Asterbilt, or from bewitching her daughter, Leonie.

The play is directed by Marty Kelly, written by Bill Johnson, and produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. Dirty Work at the Crossroads takes place on Fridays and weekends from January 23, 2026 - February 8, 2026. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinees are at 2 pm. All performances will take place at the Vint Hill Theater on the Green, 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton, VA.
