Bannock County 4H and FFA Market Animal Sale in Downey on 09 August 2025
Bannock County 4H and FFA Market Animal Sale in Downey on 09 August 2025
Saturday, August 9, 2025, 1000 - 1400
The Bannock County Fair has a long tradition of promoting youth through the 4-H and FFA market animal programs in our county. These market animal projects represent several months of time commitments by the youth and teach valuable skills in dependability, record keeping and time management, in addition to learning how to raise, care and show their market animals. These projects also represent a large financial commitment on the part of the youth. The money they invest in their animals is in turn reinvested in the community as they purchase needed items for their projects.

Company Serving Bannock County,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being a business serving Bannock County! I know you work hard serving the people of Bannock County and I want to thank you for your service.

Every year at the Bannock County Fair there is a livestock sale including beef, swine, sheep, goats and poultry. These animals are raised with quality care, dedication and hard work by the 4-H and FFA youth of Bannock County. Last year, 125 youth took market animals to the fair and this year we are anticipating that number to grow!

Personally, I participated in 4-H and FFA for 11 years as a youth. I raised market lambs and sold them at my local county fair. After paying for the animal and the included expenses, the extra money I received went towards my college education. I didn’t have to take out a student loan because of the money I made from my market animals. I learned how to work hard and how to be responsible. All of this wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the support of local companies coming to my fair and buying my animals.

By coming to the sale and buying an animal or donating money, companies will be supporting kids from Pocatello, McCammon, Lava Hot Springs, Swan Lake, Inkom, Downey, Chubbuck and Arimo.
