Free Wildfire Smoke Ready Event in Lolo
We will host a wildfire smoke preparedness event on Monday, September 22, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lolo Community Center, with our partners at Missoula Public Health and the Missoula County Office of Emergency Management.
The first 40 attendees will receive a free Winix C545 air purifier, and additional attendees will be entered to win a Winix AM90 air cleaner!
Come learn from experts how to adapt your home and lifestyle for wildfire smoke events, mitigate ignition risks around your property, and prepare for evacuations.
Why come? In the last month, Missoula County experienced 20 days of deteriorated air quality due to wildfire smoke, and Ravalli County experienced 16 days. Wildfire smoke is a toxic mix of gases and fine particulate matter (PM2.5), which can penetrate deep into the lungs and enter the bloodstream and pose a threat to lung and cardiovascular health.
