Beyond the Basics Woodland Owner Retreat: Managing Your Forest for Timber Income

In this 1.5-day long program you will learn:

What people are involved in a timber sale, the state of the forest industry in Virginia, factors that affect timber prices, and how to decide if you are ready to sell your timber. An afternoon field trip will show you what a timber harvest looks like on the ground and will include a discussion of the types of equipment used and why. The program will wrap up with a virtual timber sale experience.

Participants will come away from the program knowing more about selling their timber and how to do it sustainably.

Registration fees include 3 meals on Friday, 2 meals on Saturday, materials, and field trip transportation.

Onsite lodging is available (and encouraged) for an additional $40/person/night.
