Champions of the Wild Alaska Zoo Gala
Thursday, June 25, 2026, 1700 - 2200
The summer of 2026 is the start of a new era for the Alaska Zoo. We celebrate over 55 years of wildlife care and community service, and we are embarking on a journey which will transform the zoo. We are working with BKP Arcthitects on a Master Plan, a phased approach to improvements and expansion. The puzzle pieces are coming together - each represents a project, an investment and a partnership. All are essential for our growth.
Our 2026 Champions of the Wild theme is "Piece by Piece: Building a Future for Wildlife" - a reflection of our Master Plan. Join us for this monumental Alaska Zoo Gala on Thursday evening, June 25th, 2026. VIP check-in at 4:30pm, general guest check-in at 5pm. The event concludes at 9pm, with firepits and cocktails until 10pm.
Your contributions will allow us to put the finishing touches on many projects - these include motorized carts for accessibility rides to the back of the zoo, final steps for the camel expansion, animal enrichment, an anesthesia machine, matching funds for the new zoo playground, scholarship funds for ASD student field trip bussing and more. Piece by piece, we will make a difference together.
The evening features an artfully presented meal catered by Wild Fork, bar services by El Rodeo, raffles, silent auction, a live auction hosted by Dan Newman of Alaska Premier Auctions and Appraisals and Event Emcee Heather Doncaster, live music by Jared Woods and more. Join us under the tents on the zoo lawn with elegant lighting and decor for this evening in support of the Alaska Zoo's mission.
Auction previews will be online in June. Tickets are now open online, as are sponsorship packages. This event sells out each year and seating is limited. All proceeds support the Alaska Zoo's operations and projects. We appreciate your support!
