CHESHAM FRINGE FESTIVAL RETURNS THIS MAY BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND FOR A JOY-FILLED CELEBRATION OF ARTS and COMMUNITY
Live Music, Laugh-Out-Loud Comedy, Family Shows, Spoken Word and Free Fringe Events Across Chesham
Chesham, Buckinghamshire - The Chesham Fringe Festival is back and bigger than ever, taking over the town from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 May 2025 with a packed programme of live performance, local talent, and community creativity.
Taking place across 13 venues across Chesham - including The Elgiva and Little Theatre, Vault 17, The Red Lion, George and Dragon, The Library and other public spaces, the festival brings together comedy, music, spoken word, theatre, children's shows, and a vibrant Free Fringe-making it one of the most exciting cultural weekends in the Chilterns.
There's something for everyone! It's a truly community celebration. Whether you're a local family, a live music lover, a comedy fan or just looking for something different to do over the Bank Holiday, Chesham Fringe Festival 2025 has something for you.
Family-friendly highlights include:
- Olaf Falafel - wildly inventive children's comedian and author
- Marcel Lucont's Les Enfants Terribles - hilarious interactive gameshow for kids
- Kirsty's Singalong - musical fun for little ones and their grown-ups
- The Halls of Ridiculous - improv comedy with a family-friendly twist
- PQA (Pauline Quirke Academy) performances from talented local youth
Evening entertainment for grown-ups includes:
- Stand-up comedy (Ed Burne, Bobby Davro, Ian Stone, Willie Dowling) and cabaret (Cue 34, Dee Riley) at Vault 17 as just a few examples
- Live music performances from big names (eg. Alex Horne and the Horne section, From Big Country, Fleetwood Shack and many more)
- Local bands (eg. Tinlin, AK and the Red Kites) and acoustic artists (Heidi Browne, Ch'Lu, Liam Mera Kai and Ruby Leigh)
- Spoken word from emerging and established voices (legendary actor, Michael Brandon and a Gavin and Stacey Q and A with Rob Wilfort)

THE FREE FRINGE - ACCESSIBLE ARTS FOR ALL
The Free Fringe returns alongside ticketed events, offering a full programme of street performance, storytelling and pop-up entertainment across the town centre.
Expect live surprises and spontaneous performances, with something for all ages to enjoy-free and accessible to everyone in the community.
"We're thrilled to be bringing Chesham Fringe back for 2025," said Festival organisers, Mark Rann and Ian Slack. "It's all about creativity, connection and celebrating local talent-and we've made sure there's something for everyone, from toddlers to teens, music fans to comedy lovers."
