Why It Matters
This event is more than just a cruise-it’s a celebration of our shared responsibility to care for Alaska’s extraordinary public lands. Since 1959, Alaska Geographic has been the official nonprofit partner to Alaska’s National Parks, National Forests, National Wildlife Refuges, and BLM lands, working side by side with these agencies to make Alaska’s wild places accessible and meaningful to all.

Your participation in the Cruise for Public Lands directly supports Alaska Geographic’s youth education programs-life-changing experiences that take young Alaskans into the field to camp, paddle, hike, and work alongside public land managers. Many participants step onto public lands for the very first time during these expeditions. With your help, we provide opportunities that foster curiosity, confidence, and conservation leadership. Each ticket purchased, auction item won, or donation made fuels our mission to cultivate the next generation of stewards who will care for Alaska’s wild places long into the future.
