Dark Sky Brewing Kicks Off Dark Sky Week with Patio Party, Launches New Brew into Orbit
Friday, April 10, 2026, 1930 - 2200
The brewery, located in downtown Flagstaff, features one of the community’s best patios for stargazing while sampling 20-plus beers on tap - including the latest addition: The Stars Are Calling. To officially launch this new brew into orbit and celebrate the start of International Dark Sky Week, DSB is hosting a Dark Sky Party starting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10.
Attendees can kick off the celebration on Friday, April 10, with live music by Jonathan Cady from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Beer Garden. Then, as darkness falls, the patio will transform into a telescope viewing party presented in partnership with the Flagstaff Dark Skies Coalition. Expert guides will be on hand to point out special features in the night sky, and once you’ve seen your fill, you can grab a menu and eat your fill, too, thanks to a new spring menu that just debuted at the Atmosphere Kitchen.
The Dark Sky Party celebrates Flagstaff’s 25th anniversary as the world’s first Dark Sky City, a designation bestowed on the city for its efforts in outdoor lighting and controlling light pollution. These efforts not only make it easier to see stunning night sky sights like comets and the Milky Way, but they also protect the nocturnal ecosystem.
The International Dark Sky Places (IDSP) program certifies communities, parks, and protected areas around the world that preserve and protect dark sites through responsible lighting policies and public education. Today there are 270-plus Dark Sky Places around the world, representing 22 distinct countries.
Since 2014, Dark Sky Brewing Co. has been crafting a beer selection as unique and beautiful as every star, comet and planet visible in Flagstaff’s celestial skies. The brewery serves an ever-rotating craft beer menu at two distinct downtown Flagstaff destinations: a beer garden for guests 21 and older offering elevated pub grub from Atmosphere Kitchen and the original family-friendly taproom on Beaver Street, where cold beer pairs with wood-fired pizza from another local treasure, Pizzicletta. Fans can also find Dark Sky brews across Arizona and southwestern Colorado. For current beer tap lists, upcoming events and more, visit darkskybrewing.com.
