Dozer Day

NUCA of Iowa is proud to announce the arrival of Dozer Day at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, taking place September 20–21, 2025. Hosted by the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) of Iowa, this two-day event promises an engaging and educational experience for families, with children at the heart of the action.
Dozer Day offers kids an unforgettable chance to step into the role of a builder, giving them hands-on opportunities to operate heavy equipment under professional guidance. By climbing aboard dozers, excavators, and skid loaders, children can discover the excitement of construction and understand the impact these trades have on their communities.
Beyond the fun, Dozer Day serves as an important workforce development initiative. Through interactive displays and connections with industry leaders, the event encourages young participants to learn about career paths in construction, engineering, and utility services. As Kim Frey, NUCA of Iowa Director, explains: "Workforce development starts with awareness. Dozer Day lets children and families experience the thrill of building, learn about safety, and explore rewarding careers in construction and utilities. Inspiring future leaders begins by igniting curiosity early."
