In February 2016, DRUM TAO's off-Broadway shows were completely sold out, and the show was featured in Newsweek, which asserted, "The highly acclaimed debut of DRUM TAO in Broadway will represent not only Japanese entertainment but Japan itself." Their production MANGEKYO began in Tokyo in 2017 when they made their major recording debut with Universal Music, a compilation of 25 years of DRUM TAO, which ranked as one of the top three World Albums on iTunes. In Japan, they have been recognized with numerous governmental awards for their cultural contributions.
