Eastside Honoring Juneteenth
Saturday, June 14, 2025, 1200 - 1600
The annual celebration has been hosted by Black leaders and community members in East King County since 2020 with representatives from BAM (Blacks at Microsoft), the Lake WA School District, Eastside For All's staff and board, local entrepreneurs, educators, artists, and community advocates. Festivities begin at 12pm and include the singing of the Black National Anthem by Oya Storm, Gansango drumming, Jazz musician and legend Gary Hammond, Soul Line Dance with Steppers Unite, Double Dutch Divas, ACLU speaker Jazmyn Clark, Local Author Dwight Jones, Poetry and Song with Andrew Rocha and Kalia, and a special honoring for local Black Graduates. ASL interpretation provided. Attendees will receive a free food truck meal from HP Smokehouse BBQ or Where Ya At Matt's and a 2025 Juneteenth t-shirt (while supplies last). DJ D'lemma and DJ Jointz will keep everyone entertained throughout the day as people check out locally owned Black business vendors and community resources. Free and open to all!
