Lisa Guyon, executive director of WE CAN, will speak about "Women Empowerment," Sunday, March 17, at 10 AM at UU Falmouth, 840 Sandwich Rd., East Falmouth. The talk will be part of the one-hour UU Falmouth Sunday Service including a choir and grand piano, open to the public free of charge. An open coffee hour immediately follows the service, and an optional small group discussion of the topic starts at 11:30.
WE CAN is a Cape-based non-profit organization that empowers and supports women to build pathways to stability and self-sufficiency. WE CAN's name is an acronym for Women's Empowerment Through Cape Area Networking. More information about WE CAN can be found at https://www.wecancenter.org/ Money collected during the service will be shared with WE CAN.
As March is National Women's History Month, Ms. Guyon was invited to speak about the work of WE CAN and the women it serves. Previously, Ms. Guyon served as director of community benefits and grant administration at Cape Cod Healthcare. She is a Cape Cod native, graduating from Harwich High School and Wheaton College.
UU Falmouth is the official short name of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth, a congregation with members and friends from the four towns of the Upper Cape and beyond. More information is available at uufalmouth.org.
