Fall brings a season packed with parades, festivals, game-day traditions to Downtown Tempe. From October through November, Mill Avenue and the surrounding district will buzz with activity, cementing Downtown Tempe as the Valley's go-to destination for fall fun.

Downtown Tempe is home to numerous time-honored traditions each fall. High-energy football weekends and events hosted by local businesses to outdoor patios and rooftop parties, you'll find something happening every weekend in the heart of the city. Some notable events this fall season include the cherished traditions events with new events:

Mill Music Sessions: A new live music series at Hayden Flour Mill kicks off in October and features local bands including Wyves, Banana Gun and Big Finish. The first event of the series is from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24. This free event is open to all ages, so bring a blanket, a chair and water. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer: The 27th Annual Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk at Tempe Beach Park is all about making strides toward raising breast cancer awareness and raising funds to end breast cancer for everyone. The event begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. Loco Patron is offering an after-party brunch, and Prince Street will be donating 100% of the proceeds from every side of the Not Ranch back to the foundation.

ASU Homecoming Week: Homecoming week is Nov. 9-15 this year. Attendees can participate in a variety of interactive events, like the Lantern Walk, Block Party, a parade and the ASU vs. West Virginia game at Mountain America Stadium. It's also the perfect time of year to hit a Downtown Tempe patio for a delicious meal and refreshing beverages.

2nd Sundays on Mill: When the 2nd Sundays on Mill series returns in November, Mill Avenue shuts down to vehicles to create a truly walkable, street market that's so much more than shopping. Each month brings a new theme so no two events in the series are the same. A Multicultural experience from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, will feature live music, street performances, snacks and sips, hands-on activities, roaming entertainment, interactive art and family-friendly programming. Free, dog-friendly and brimming with energy, 2nd Sundays on Mill truly has something for everyone.

Tempe Veterans Day Parade: A cherished tradition for over 50 years, Tempe's annual Veterans Day Parade returns at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, to salute and celebrate military veterans. The parade, which begins at ASU Gammage and continues up Mill Avenue, finishing at Tempe Beach Park, features local marching bands, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and veteran groups, all coming together to show support for those who've served their country.

"Cooler temps bring out the best of Downtown Tempe," said Lori Foster, President and CEO of Downtown Tempe Authority. "These events celebrate everything people love most about the season, and they're all in the heart of Tempe. Attendees can enjoy outdoor live music, a market or a football tailgate, and then stick around to eat at our restaurants, grab a drink with friends or shop with our local businesses."
