First UMC Annual Holiday Marketplace
Friday, November 10, 2023 -- Sunday, November 12, 2023, 1200 - 1300
Join us for the 2023 holiday shopping event of the year on Friday, November 10, Saturday, November 11, and Sunday, November 12 and help support the missions and ministries of First UMC. Friday evening, we will be open from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. ($5 entry fee for those 12 and older - free appetizers and punch will be served); on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; and 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. There will be 8 shopping areas for the whole family to browse through featuring holiday shopping, upscale resale, and baked goods. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be there, so be sure to stop by and say "hi" to them! There is no entry fee on Saturday or Sunday. First UMC is located at 419 NE 1st Street, Gainesville, FL 32601.
This year our Holiday Marketplace will feature 8 shops with each shop catering to different interests, ages, and budgets including a special area just for kids. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. We hope to see you at the First United Methodist Church Holiday Marketplace!
Our Shops
- Santa's Workshop has lit/decorated trees, lots of wreaths (both lit and unlit), decorated baskets, centerpieces for dining, as well as some beautiful Nativity sets. You have to see it to believe the selection in this shop!
- $5 and Under is a new shop this year that is sponsored by Scout Troop 21. This shop features toys, sports equipment, and lots more with everything $5 and under! All proceeds from $5 and Under support the scouts.
- Twice As Nice is our upscale resale shop but many items are new! This shop has expanded to three sections and offers the best bargains in town. Everything we sell is in excellent, clean, and working condition.
- The Country Store welcomes you as you enter the Marketplace with a lit tent and Cracker Barrel atmosphere. Candles, crafted items, resale, country decor, and dishes.
- Unique Boutique is a true delight with sparkling jewelry, hats, shoes, designer purses, and beautiful resale clothing for women, men, and children. There are bargains galore in this shop!
- The Giving Tree is one of the most popular shops in the Marketplace! This shop provides all your favorite discounted gift cards, as well as themed/wrapped gift baskets.
- The Bountiful Bakery is true to its name with cakes, pies, cookies, and breads. Our United Women in Faith have worked really hard to be sure there is a wide variety to tempt you and your waistline including delicious chocolate pecans.
- Artisan's Way features craft art, pottery, original photography, paintings, and wrapped prints. This is an opportunity to own a one of a kind piece of art at a very good price.
