It might be cold outside, but as the days inch longer, Michiana adult learners are getting ready to return to Forever Learning Institute for another 10-week semester of lifelong learning at its finest.

A not-for-profit school attracting volunteer instructors from a variety of backgrounds, the scope of course offerings is what brings hundreds of students to FLI each semester. At only $55.00 a course, Forever Learning remains accessible to seniors on any budget. Class topics include health and fitness, creative arts, music, dance, history and political science, religion, languages, literature, leisure activities, business, and computer technology.

Students may view the 80-plus course offerings online at www.foreverlearninginstitute.org or stop by Forever Learning in the St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church Parish Center at 54191 Ironwood Road, South Bend, to pick up a course guide. Guides are also made available through the St. Joseph County and Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Libraries.

Classes are held at locations throughout Michiana. Forever Learning’s main campus and office are in St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church Parish Center. Classes are also taught at the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph County, Southfield Village, and Howard Park Event Center. Forever Learning is also offering a number of courses online.

The 10-week spring semester will begin March 4. Registration for all classes is available online beginning February 12. Interested students should go to the Forever Learning Institute’s online catalog at fli.coursestorm.com. Students may also register for classes by mail, using the registration form online or in the course guide.

The Forever Learning Institute, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality and dignity of senior adult life through continuing intellectual challenge, spiritual reflection, and social interaction. Classes are available to all seniors fifty years of age and older, regardless of race, color, religion, or ethnic origin.
FLI was founded in 1974 by Rev. Louis J. Putz, C.S.C., a retired professor from the University of Notre Dame who saw a need for lifelong learning opportunities in the South Bend area and surrounding communities. This beloved community service is experiencing unprecedented growth as more and more seniors discover the joys of learning and sharing their lives with their peers.
