Whether you’re looking to deepen your ensemble skills, learn new repertoire, or simply make music in a welcoming community, this weekend is for you. We welcome students on bowed strings, guitar, piano, bass, banjo, mandolin and other folk instruments.

Trent Freeman (Fiddle)
Juno Award-winning violinist and core member of The Fretless. A genre-crossing musician equally at home in traditional and contemporary styles, Trent has toured internationally, recorded six albums with The Fretless, and released original fiddle music of his own. He’s also collaborated with artists such as John Reischman and Pharis and Jason Romero.

Oliver Swain (Accompaniment and Rhythm)
Juno nominee and two-time Western Canadian Music Award winner. A versatile multi-instrumentalist (bass, banjo) and vocalist with over 50 album credits, Oliver has performed across North America, Europe, and Australia. He’s also an experienced choir director and coach for pianists and guitarists.

Gabriel Dubreuil (Fiddle)
A Berklee College of Music graduate, Gabriel blends Québécois and Celtic traditions with classical and jazz influences. He performs with Collage Trad and Early Spirit, and serves as Executive and Artistic Director of the Celtic Ensemble and Programming Director for Festival du Bois. He’s especially passionate about building community through ensemble playing.
