Saturday, June 28, 2025 | 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

You're invited to the grand opening of The Bread Shed, a brand-new artisan microbakery launching in Franklin Township! Operated by Brett and Sheila Healey through their umbrella venture, The Healey Farm, LLC, The Bread Shed is a woman-owned, family-run, and youth-engaged venture offering hand-shaped sourdough loaves, giant cookies, and old-fashioned cinnamon rolls — all baked fresh from a certified home kitchen.

This sidewalk-style farmstand bakery combines small-batch baking with a big purpose: reviving community connection through local food, teaching the next generation of entrepreneurs, and delivering honest flavor with handmade care.

Whether you’re a sourdough enthusiast, a cinnamon roll loyalist, or a supporter of small businesses, The Bread Shed offers a nostalgic, neighborhood-based experience rooted in hospitality, heart, and wholesome ingredients. The June 28 launch will feature all signature bakes and welcoming faces ready to make you feel like part of the family.

What You’ll Find at the Grand Opening:
- Artisan sourdough loaves with a crisp crust and airy crumb
- Giant triple-chip cookies — “as big as your palm and gooey like grandma’s”
- Classic cinnamon rolls with sweet brown sugar
- First-come, first-served selection — baked fresh overnight and ready that morning
- Friendly family faces and warm service
- Cash, Card, Check, CashApp, Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay

The Bread Shed: More Than Just a Bakery
The Bread Shed is the latest division of The Healey Farm, LLC, a diversified local business rooted in Indianapolis and focused on purpose-led ventures. The bakery’s launch is part of a larger strategy to foster entrepreneurship, support youth-led experiences, and provide community access to homegrown food and meaningful small business models.

The idea was born during the Healey family’s three-week sabbatical through Europe. Inspired by the bakeries of Italy, France, Austria, and Germany, Sheila came home determined to bring that same sense of daily delight to her neighborhood. With her husband Brett managing operations and licensing, and her teenage son Mason stepping in to lead social media, customer service, and engagement, The Bread Shed was born — grounded in midwestern grit, European charm, and real family effort.

Youth-Engaged Entrepreneurship
The bakery doesn’t just employ family — it empowers them. At age 15, Mason Healey is gaining real-world experience in customer service, point-of-sale systems, and the rhythm of running a business. The Healeys have intentionally created a space where skill-building happens right alongside sourdough scoring. This isn’t a one-off bake sale — it’s a training ground for future business leadership. As they grow, their passion is to add more youthful entrepreneurs and ventures to support the community.

With WOB certification in progress, class-based accounting already in place, and a scalable growth strategy mapped out, this isn’t just another Saturday event. It’s the first step in something meaningful — a new generation of grassroots commerce with bread at its heart.
