Grizzly 399 Monument Artist Meet and Greet at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

Grizzly 399's story is deeply woven into the identity of Jackson Hole and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Her presence on this landscape connected people from all walks of life, and her legacy continues to inspire a shared sense of stewardship for the wild places that define this region.

Renowned wildlife sculptor Jocelyn Russell will share the story behind the new Grizzly 399 Monument, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the artistic process, the inspiration behind the design, and the monument's progress toward its installation at the National Museum of Wildlife Art and public unveiling on September 9, 2026.

Guests will have the opportunity to view a fully detailed resin maquette of the monument, along with Grizzly 399's original clay face and paws sculpted at nearly twice life size.

This gathering brings the community closer to the artist and the story behind the monument honoring Grizzly 399. As the project nears installation, final support is still being welcomed to help complete and care for the site. The monument stands as a reflection of the deep appreciation held for her across Jackson Hole.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Tram Dock Restaurant at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

The event is free and open to the public. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required, and may be sent to project.team@399monument.com.
