HRC Community Coat Distribution -Carbondale

The Human Resources Center, Inc. (HRC) will proudly host its annual Community Coat Drive, a collaborative effort focused on ensuring individuals and families throughout the region have access to warm winter clothing during the coldest months of the year. This initiative will once again highlight the strength of community partnerships, volunteerism, and generosity as residents and local businesses come together to support neighbors in need.

Coat collection will take place throughout December and early January at multiple drop-off locations across the area. Community members will be encouraged to donate new or gently used winter coats of all sizes, helping to ensure children, adults, and seniors are all served. Through the support of donors and partner organizations, hundreds of coats are expected to be collected in preparation for distribution.

The Coat Drive will culminate in a coordinated distribution day scheduled for Sunday, January 11, with multiple accessible distribution sites across three counties. By offering several locations, HRC will work to reduce transportation barriers and ensure greater access for individuals and families. Volunteers will assist with setup, sorting, and distribution, helping to create a welcoming and dignified experience for all participants.

HRC will partner with local businesses, community organizations, and faith-based groups that will serve as collection sites, help promote the event, and support distribution day efforts. These partnerships will be essential to the success of the coat drive and will reflect the strong spirit of collaboration within the community.

Beyond meeting an immediate need, the Community Coat Drive will support HRC's broader mission to strengthen communities through compassionate, community-based services. Initiatives like this help address basic needs while fostering connection, dignity, and hope.
