HRC Community Coat Distribution - Honesdale
Sunday, January 11, 2026, 1000 - 1400
The Human Resources Center, Inc. (HRC) proudly hosted its annual Community Coat Drive, a collaborative effort to ensure individuals and families throughout the region have access to warm winter clothing during the coldest months of the year. This year's drive once again demonstrated the power of community partnerships, volunteerism, and generosity, as residents and businesses came together to support neighbors in need.
Coat collection took place throughout December and early January at multiple drop-off locations across the area. Community members were encouraged to donate new or gently used winter coats of all sizes to help ensure that children, adults, and seniors could benefit from the drive. Thanks to the overwhelming response, hundreds of coats were gathered in preparation for distribution.
The Coat Drive culminated in a coordinated distribution day held on Sunday, January 11, with events hosted at multiple accessible locations across three counties. By operating distribution sites across communities, HRC reached a broader population and reduced barriers, including transportation challenges. Volunteers assist with setup, sorting, and distribution, helping ensure the day runs smoothly and that every participant feels welcomed and respected.
HRC is deeply grateful to the many local businesses, organizations, and faith-based partners that supported the coat drive by serving as collection sites, promoting the event, and assisting on distribution day. Their involvement was critical to the initiative's success and highlighted the strong network of community support throughout the region.
Beyond providing warmth, the Community Coat Drive reflects HRC's broader mission to support individuals and families through compassionate, community-based services. Events like this not only address immediate needs but also strengthen connections among residents, organizations, and service providers.
The Human Resources Center, Inc. remains committed to continuing this annual tradition and expanding opportunities to serve the community. Through partnerships and shared dedication, HRC looks forward to building on the success of this year's coat drive and continuing to make a meaningful impact for those it serves.
