International Winter Film Series at The Rialto: BFS presents Cannes Winner "It Was Just an Accident"

Spotlighting international cinema, the Bozeman Film Society presents its Winter Film Series this January at The Rialto Theater. The lineup includes critically-acclaimed cinema from Iran, Norway, and Brazil, featuring Cannes Film Festival prize-winners: IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT, SENTIMENTAL VALUE, and THE SECRET AGENT. Tickets and Series passes are available.

SYNOPSIS: What begins as a minor accident sets in motion a series of escalating consequences. Perhaps the most bluntly political film by dissident Iranian filmmaker, Jafar Panahi , yet, IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT is a defiant rebuke of authoritarianism that still delivers the entertainment value of a gripping thriller. Rated PG13. In Persian with subtitles.

2025 Cannes Palme d'Or Winner
Golden Globe nominations for Best Picture - Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Non-English Language Motion Picture.
