Kite building workshop

In honor of Hispanic Latino heritage month and the upcoming Dia de los Muertos or Day or the Dead, families are invited to come together for an afternoon of celebration and gentle fun. Cuahtemoc, alongside his wife Luz, will guide registrants on their process of building these simple yet beautiful pieces with materials you may already have in your home!

In Central America, kites aren't just for fun-they're powerful icons of tradition, unity, love, faith, and deep respect for ancestors and Mother Nature. These high-flying wonders are believed to carry heartfelt messages to departed loved ones, acting as a spirited bridge between the living and the great beyond.



Important note: WHILE KITE FLYING IS NOT ALLOWED AT CONSERVATORY GROUNDS, PERMISSION HAS BEEN OBTAINED FOR THIS SPECIAL ONE OF A KIND EVENT IN HONOR OF HISPANIC LATINO HERITAGE MONTH.
