Lights for Lahaina returns in 2026 with two meaningful evenings honoring remembrance, resilience, and community in the heart of Lahaina. Presented by Aloha Amplified, this free, public event takes place September 11-12, 2026, bringing residents and visitors together to reflect, remember, and share in collective healing through connection, culture, and shared experiences. Rooted in community and guided by the voices of Lahaina, Lights for Lahaina creates space for honoring the past while holding hope for the future.

The first evening, Our Lahaina Story, will be held on Friday, September 11, from 4:30-8:00 pm at Maria Lanakila Catholic Church. This gathering invites the community to come together around shared roots and living memories in a welcoming, family-friendly setting. The evening features local entertainment, favorite foods we grew up with, cultural practitioners and hands-on activities, creative art experiences, games, and talk story reflections that encourage connection across generations. At the heart of the evening is Our Lahaina Story, an interactive exhibit that honors the everyday moments, memories, and voices that continue to shape Lahaina-capturing stories both big and small that reflect the spirit and resilience of the community.

On Saturday, September 12, from 6:00-9:00 pm, the Light March offers a walk of remembrance, resilience, and unity through historic Lahaina Town. Participants are invited to carry light together as gentle mele, quiet reflection, and storytelling are woven along the route, creating a shared experience of presence and remembrance. The march concludes with a closing gathering at Maria Lanakila Catholic Church, offering space for reflection, connection, and collective acknowledgment of Lahaina's enduring strength.

Together, these two evenings create a meaningful rhythm-one rooted in story, gathering, and shared joy, and the other grounded in reflection, unity, and light. Lights for Lahaina is free and open to the public, welcoming the community to participate in ways that feel meaningful to them, whether through storytelling, creative expression, quiet reflection, or simply being present alongside others.
