Lunch and Learn: Three Steps to Protect Your Legacy with Lasting Control and Peace of Mind Workshop
Wednesday, October 15, 2025, 1200 - 1400
If something unexpected happened to you tomorrow - an illness, accident, or sudden passing - who would step in to make decisions for you and your family? Would they know what to do? Would they even have the legal authority to act on your behalf? Most people haven't thought about these questions until it's too late. And when there's no plan, the fallout can be devastating: children's lives are suddenly disrupted, spouses are left overwhelmed, and families are forced into confusing, expensive, and public court processes at the worst possible time - when they need clarity, not chaos and more trauma.
That's why we're inviting you to a special free workshop (lunch included) with estate planning and asset protection attorney, Ben Turshen. These small-group sessions are designed for individuals and couples who want to stay in control of their care and finances as they age, protect their life savings from lawsuits, long-term care costs, and other unexpected threats, and make things as simple and stress-free as possible for their loved ones.
In this session, Ben will teach the three essential steps to protecting what matters most: knowing the rules, knowing the threats, and knowing your options. You'll learn how to avoid common mistakes, including how to protect your home, savings, and business if you get sued (incorporating your business alone isn't enough); the key planning documents every family needs to prevent chaos and conflict; how to keep your affairs private and your loved ones out of court if you become disabled (since not all Powers of Attorney are valid); and practical steps to help your family avoid the expensive, time-consuming, and public process of probate (yes, even a Will must go through probate).
You'll also discover legal strategies to protect your children's inheritance from being lost in a divorce, lawsuit, or bankruptcy; how to plan ahead for long-term care or Medicaid without going broke or buying insurance; and how to preserve your estate if your surviving spouse remarries, so your legacy stays in your family. Parents and grandparents of children with special needs will learn how to plan for a lifetime of care without jeopardizing eligibility for government benefits like Medicaid, SSI, or even FAFSA. And finally, you'll hear how to ensure your pets - the most often forgotten family members - are protected if something happens to you.
If you are married or own a business, we recommend attending with your spouse and/or business partners, since these conversations affect them as well. You are also welcome to invite others who may benefit from this important information. Because this is a catered event, please have each person register separately so we can plan accordingly.
