Lydia Brownfield: Celebrating 30+ Years of Songwriting
Friday, May 23 | Natalie's
Join us for a heartfelt evening at Natalie's as Lydia Brownfield celebrates over three decades of fearless songwriting, soulful performance, and deeply personal storytelling. This special event honors a lifetime of music that spans cities, stages, and seasons of life—from her beginnings on the west side of Columbus, to her years performing across the South, to a creative rebirth in New York City and back home again.
Lydia's songs are a rich tapestry of experience—touching on love, heartbreak, resilience, and hope. Her journey includes two difficult divorces, the joys and challenges of motherhood, and a long history of creative evolution.
Described as "honestly poignant, achingly hopeful, and hopelessly existential," Lydia's style is a genre-blending mix of alternative, Americana, folk, indie pop, and punk. Her voice—often likened to Alison Krauss and Sinéad O'Connor—cuts through with clarity and emotion, leaving a lasting impact on every audience.
Over the years, Lydia has toured the South, shared the stage with Grammy-winning artists like Loudon Wainwright III and Indigo Girls, and built a reputation as a powerful live performer. Today, she performs regularly throughout Ohio—most often as a duo with her husband and musical partner Jeff Dalrymple, though sometimes solo or with a full band.
In recent years, Lydia has taken full creative control of her music—producing, engineering, and mastering her own recordings, including the singles Poisoned Devil Soul, My Paradise, Cover You Up, and Shapes. She's also begun exploring the world of sync licensing, proving her artistic journey continues to grow.
This milestone show at Natalie's isn't just a concert—it's a celebration of a songwriter's life in motion. Come share the night, the stories, and the songs that have shaped a remarkable 30+ year journey.
