Maine State Button Society Annual Show and Sale

Button collecting may begin with acquiring a button tin or box from a relative or purchase at a flea market. Sorting through buttons leads one to appreciate the artistry and craftmanship involved in the creation of buttons. And eventually it may lead to saving buttons that hold a certain appeal or inspire one to find other similar buttons or to explore more about the material(s) used to produce the button, or where or who produced it, or how it was used.

The button show provides an opportunity to purchase unique buttons (modern and antique) from vendors who have wonderful collections and can share their knowledge of their buttons. There is something for everyone. There are also raffle items, poke boxes (a collection of loose buttons that allow one to "poke through" and perhaps find special buttons for your own collection or special project), craft items, and yummy refreshments.
