Join us to wander around a beautiful garden, enjoy tea and homemade cake, and browse a great selection of plants for sale. As you enter across the small terrace, the garden takes you by surprise, as you see it dropping down to a small pond and then rising gently into a woodland area. Walking round, there is a different theme and planting schemes full of interesting and unusual plants at each turn. There is a bed that floods in winter, planted with Iris species, and other moisture-loving plants. The highlight in June is the roses and clematis. The shady woodland area is planted with a shrub layer of hydrangeas, rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias interplanted with a wide range of woodland plants. There are several strategic places to sit and enjoy the peaceful garden where you can listen to an unusual number of birds and the cascade that rushes down the rockery. As you leave the garden, notice the modern stone water feature in the front garden with a backdrop of lavenders, carnations and salvias. The rest of the front is a shrubbery and walnut tree under-planted with narcissus, alliums and hardy geraniums

The primary beneficiaries of the National Garden Scheme (NGS) UK are the nursing and health charities to whom the scheme donates the money raised from garden openings.
These core beneficiaries include:
Macmillan Cancer Support: A significant recipient, helping them provide physical, financial, and emotional support to people living with cancer.
Marie Curie: Supports people living with any terminal illness, and their families, offering hands-on nursing care.
Hospice UK: The national charity for hospice and palliative care, supporting over 200 hospices across the UK.
The Queen's Nursing Institute (QNI): Supports community nurses to improve the nursing care of people in their own homes and communities.
Parkinson's UK: Funds research into Parkinson's and provides support and information to those affected.
Carers Trust: Supports unpaid carers with services, information, advice, and resources.

Eastleigh Rotary is supporting this event and raising funds for The End Polio Initiative, pioneered by Rotary International. Some of the money from the teas and plant sales will help eradicate this horrendous disease worldwide. We must continue the fight against this disease, and your contribution will help.
