No. 2 Construction Battalion's Legacy in BC and Beyond: Commemorative Plaque Unveiling
Saturday, July 26, 2025, 1000 - 1200
BC Black History Awareness Society is honoured to present this commemoration event on Saturday, July 26th, helping to shed light on the twelve brave Black men of British Columbia who enlisted in No. 2 Construction Battalion. By highlighting the contribution and dedication of these Black men, we seek to deepen awareness and appreciation of the legacy of Black People in BC and throughout Canada.
We’ve developed a unique website that details their individual war service, the operational history for the Battalion from when they sailed to England in March 1917, served in France, and returned to Canada in January 1919. Learn more about this important history at blackbattalionbc.ca
