North Shore Teen Film Festival
Saturday, April 25, 2026, 1530 - 1830
--- 11:00AM–12:00PM ---
Mobile Filmmaking for Teens Workshop
You already have everything you need to make an amazing film; it's in your pocket!
Join us for a hands-on workshop (as part of our North Shore Teen Film Festival) where you'll learn how to turn your smartphone into a serious filmmaking tool. Whether you want to make short films, create content for social media, or just tell stories in a new way, this workshop will give you the skills to take your videos from "pretty good" to genuinely impressive.
--- 3:30PM–4:30PM ---
Guest Speaker: Breanne Williamson
Join us for a presentation by North Vancouver-based actor, comedian, writer, director, and Argyle Secondary alumna Breanne Williamson. Breanne is the creator of the LGBTQ+ web series "Basement 51" (filmed right here in her parents' North Van basement!), as well as the popular short films "Coming Out" and "Aging Out" (available on YouTube). Through her work, she has built a substantial following as a social media personality and 2SLGBTQ+ advocate.
In this talk, Breanne will share her journey to becoming an independent filmmaker, discuss her creative process, and offer practical advice for young filmmakers pursuing their dreams.
Perfect for aspiring filmmakers, comedy fans, and anyone interested in the indie film world!
--- 4:30PM–6:30PM ---
Screenings
Join us for screenings of short films by local youth. Who knows? Some of them may go on to be famous names and you can say you saw them when they were first starting out! Screenings will run from 4:30-6:30pm. You are welcome to stay for as long as you want within this time, but please register so we can get an idea of how many attendees might be coming.
