Opening Reception for Three Exhibitions at Schweinfurth Art Center

The free opening reception celebrates three new exhibitions. T3%+!le$ is Surface Design Association juried exhibition, playfully titled T3%+!le$, explores language in all its expressive forms: written, spoken, and illustrative. Artworks in the exhibit engage broadly with ideas of communication-from poetry and prose to computer code, indexing, and archiving-as it relates to the grammar of textiles and the vocabulary of fiber. Sa:gwayoˀ Gayogoho:nǫˀ / Cayuga People, We Returned focuses on the Gayogoho:nǫˀ experience of diaspora from and return to their homelands through artworks, audio, video, artifacts, and archival documents from across the Hodinǫhsǫ́:nih Confederacy. People Seen, Places Been features artwork by Rochester artist Haley Indorato, whose oil paintings depict people, places, and things observed from everyday life.

The reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available.
