Play Croquet to Benefit Colonial Beach Charities

Who will take home the Trophy this year?
Originally hosted by the Alexander Graham Bell House Bed and Breakfast, the Annual Croquet Tournament in Colonial Beach moved to Town Hill after the Bell House was sold. We gather once a year to play croquet, have a cocktail, and enjoy some food. This year's event is on Saturday, September 19th with a rain date of Sunday September 20th.
No experience necessary! We just have a lot of fun while raising money for Local Charities! Oh don't get me wrong...we have some skilled competitive players, too. They vie to add their name to and hold the coveted AGB Trophy each year. Play is limited to 36 players, but we have unlimited spectators and volunteers! We always need volunteers to help set up and break down, sell food and beverage tickets, grill sausages, mix drinks, and serve the wine, beer, food, etc.
ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR WHITE! We play under USCA 9-Wicket (aka Long Grass or Back Yard) Rules. The rules can be downloaded here https://bit.ly/9WCroquetCBVA
The entry fee is $35 per player per preliminary match. The entry fee is a donation to local Colonial Beach Charities (you are welcome to donate more than $35). RAIN DATE: Sunday September 20th, 2025.
A maximum of 36 Pre-Registered Players will be randomly assigned to 6 Preliminary Matches to be played at 9, 10, and 11 AM. The winner of each Match will play for the Alexander Graham Bell Trophy in the Final Match at 1:00.
Bloody Marys, Mimosas, sodas, beer, and water will be available for purchase from 9 AM until 3:00 (or until sold out). Lunch will be available for purchase during the lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00.
Register by mailing your check for $35 to Caryn Self Sullivan, PO Box 249, Colonial Beach VA 22443. Or register in person at Beach Paws Boutique, 116 Hawthorn Street in Colonial Beach. Beach Paws is open from 11-5 daily.
