Prayers for Peace: A Collaborative Choral Concert In Solidarity With The People of Ukraine

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo (UUCB) Choir collaborates with the University at Buffalo (UB) Choir, Mriya Ukrainian Women's Choir, and St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church Choir to perform a concert of powerful reflective music in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. The concert will feature music by a variety of Ukrainian choral composers and will include spoken information on the music's origins and meanings in both English and Ukrainian. The aim of the concert is to celebrate Ukrainian culture and the cross-cultural healing power of music. The Friday evening concert will be followed by a reception of traditional Ukrainian food in the UUCB Parish Hall. A repeat performance of the concert will occur Saturday evening at UB,

The choir of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo (UUCB/UUCB) in cooperation with the choir of the University of Buffalo (UB/UB), the Ukrainian Women's Choir "Mriya" and the Choir of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of St. Nicholas, will perform a concert of powerful music that deeply moves the soul as a sign of solidarity with the people of Ukraine . The concert will feature music by various Ukrainian choral composers, as well as speeches about the origin and meaning of music in English and Ukrainian. The purpose of the concert is to celebrate Ukrainian culture and reveal God's cross-cultural healing power in music. After the evening concert on Friday, there will be a treat with traditional Ukrainian dishes in the parish hall of UUCB. The concert will be repeated Saturday night at the University at Buffalo.
