Resist * Connect * Rebuild: Bimonthly Gathering
Thursday, October 30, 2025, 1800 - 1930
Join us for our last general Member Meeting of the year! In addition to reports from our teams on recent actions and upcoming opportunities, we’ll present info on three important current and upcoming programs:
One Million Rising - Building on the nationwide NO KINGS mobilization, the One Million Rising program is an effort to bring millions together to take action against authoritarianism, often in small, private ways. As one of our members said, “The great thing about One Million Rising is that everybody can find some small thing they can do to interrupt or resist authoritarianism. And nobody else has to know about it! It’s perfect for people who want to do something but can’t or don’t want to go to big public rallies, or who don’t have a lot of time.” Come learn how you can start your own small group or find one to join.
Signs of Solidarity - We’ll also introduce the new Signs of Solidarity program, which focuses on protecting our immigrant brothers and sisters by working directly with local businesses in our community. This national campaign encourages businesses and communities to display signs showing opposition to hate and support for immigrant neighbors. For this program, we are working in partnership with other groups to reach out to local businesses, and we need volunteers to help plan, coordinate, and contact business owners.
WNC Votes! - Finally, we’ll officially introduce our 2026 voter outreach and engagement plans, working in solidarity with other nonpartisan organizations through our WNC Votes! Voter Outreach Coalition. Yes, we WILL have elections next year, and yes, we can win. But we will need all hands on deck. So come learn how we plan to do it and how you can participate.
Everyone’s welcome, even if you haven’t attended any of our meetings before. So come learn what we’ve been up to, find opportunities to get involved, and share your questions, suggestions, and ideas. And bring a friend!
The Skyland/South Buncombe Library is off of Long Shoals Road in South Asheville, right next to TC Roberson High School. The library closes at 6 p.m., so if you can’t arrive during the 5:30-6 p.m. check-in time, please drive around to the back and enter at the back door, up the steps and behind the pergola.
NOTE: Registration is helpful but not required.
