SAU Powerlifting Team LIFTATHON
Friday, November 20, 2026, 1700 - 1900
The Fall 2026 LIFTATHON, hosted by the Southern Arkansas University Powerlifting Team, is a community-focused fundraiser designed to combine collegiate powerlifting with service to the Magnolia community. During the event, SAU powerlifters will take on a unique challenge: collectively lifting one pound for every dollar donated. As donations increase, so does the challenge for our athletes, creating an exciting way for the community to directly participate in and follow the team's progress.
The LIFTATHON will benefit both the SAU Powerlifting Team and The Caring Place of Magnolia, with 50% of all proceeds donated directly to The Caring Place. The Caring Place provides a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for individuals living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and early memory loss while providing valuable respite for their family caregivers.
The remaining funds will help the SAU Powerlifting Team cover competition travel, meet entry fees, equipment, and other program-development needs as the team continues to grow and compete throughout the 2026-2027 season.
The event will also provide opportunities for local businesses and community members to get involved through monetary donations, business sponsorships, and product or in-kind contributions. Through this partnership, the LIFTATHON aims to support student-athletes, promote healthy lifestyles, strengthen community connections, and give back to local families who benefit from The Caring Place. For business interested in sponsoring the SAU Powerlifting Team, please contact: saupowerlifting@gmail.com
The LIFTATHON represents more than a fundraising event-it is an opportunity for SAU student-powerlifters and the Magnolia community to come together, get stronger, and make a meaningful difference-one pound at a time.
