Saturday August 23rd 11am - 4pm and Sunday August 24th 11am - 3pm. ENTRY is by DONATION.
ACTIVITIES VARY BY DAY. PLEASE CHECK OUR WEBSITE FOR DATES AND TIMES Of ACTIVITIES. This is our annual living history event about the 18th/19th century potato harvest and farmstead living.
CONTESTS:
SATURDAY ONLY - You must register from 10AM - 11AM Saturday for the Kids POTATO PICKING CONTEST
--SATURDAY -- Kids Tractor Pedal Pull
--SATURDAY --Adults pick their own potatoes $10 for a 5 gallon bucket of potatoes.
--SATURDAY - MASTER GARDENERS: Activities in the gardens include Make a Potato Stamp, Potato Scarecrow, Using potatoes to propagate woody plants, welcome beneficial insects and wildlife to gardens.
SUNDAY are the children's POTATO SACK RACES
--Adults can go into the field after the contests and pick their own potatoes $10 for a 5 gallon bucket of potatoes.
-- Vendors are: Hicksville BBQ Food Truck, Antietam Dairy Ice Cream, Hand Cut Fresh French Fries, Potato Chip Making Demonstration.
LIVING HISTORY PRESENTATIONS:
--18th/19th Century Petting Zoo - learn from a civil war solider about caring for his war horse, --The Conococheauge Institute will be bringing thir goats to talk about their uses in history.
--A Civil War ear pharmacist will teach you how herbs were used in treat soliders in the Civil war
---Colonial period Scavenger Hunt
---Childrens Colonial period Accessories Try-on
---18th century, spinning ,butter churning, cooking on the Farmstead outdoor oven
---Antique Tractor Show both days --- stroll around outdoor displays of early 20th century tractors.
--Antique Tractor Pull- Sunday.
--Potato Harvest Exhibits in our Farm Museum.
