Sri Krishna Janmashtami Musical Fellowship

Join us for an evening of vocal music and divine wisdom on the auspicious descension day of Lord Vasudeva Krishna. This sacred fellowship will be graced by the presence of Himalayan siddha monk, His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda (Penn Valley, CA), and His Holiness Swami Shivajyotishananda Giri (Ajmer, Rajashtan, India).

This unique Krishna Janmashtami celebration will feature an interactive musical satsanga where both esteemed monks will be seated beside singers, Sowba Rao and Rama Raghuraman. The vocalists will present devotional compositions honouring Lord Vasudeva Krishna, with HH Swami Vidyadhishananda and HH Swami Shivajyotishananda offering insights from Lord Vasudeva Krishna lila (pastimes), historical, and philosophical meaning behind this day.

HH Swami Vidyadhishananda will interweave his Katha-style (story-telling) discourse with English translations of Sanskrit teachings from the Srimad-Bhagavatam shared by HH Swami Shivajyotishananda.

Hosted by Sri Venkateswara Swami (Balaji) Temple in Aurora, Illinois, this fellowship offers a rare opportunity to experience a sacred convergence of devotional music and Vedic wisdom in the direct presence of saintly monks eulogizing the supreme personality of God.
