Donations from this special event will support the organization's annual Concerto Competition for High School Musicians, an event open to all Florida students. This 15th annual event supports music education by providing talented high school musicians with an opportunity to perform a concerto with wind symphony. Applications are due March 1, and the concert will be held April 26 at Jacksonville University. The winner receives a $1,500 scholarship; the second-place award is $500. https://www.fcwinds.org/events/concerto-competition

The First Coast Wind Symphony chamber music concert on March 8 will include music by the group's flute, clarinet and trombone groups, and the brass quintet. The featured chamber work is Kurt Weill's "Little Threepenny Music," a suite for wind ensemble drawn from his 1928 play with music titled The
Threepenny Opera, a German theater work with a libretto by Bertolt Brecht. Weill's music, based on 1920's jazz and dance music, includes the hit song "Mack The Knife."
